Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily Scrum Calls and be a respected by teams
  • Communicate well between development and customer teams
  • Identify and manage escalations appropriate
  • Prepare for Product Development Meetings to keep meetings focused
  • Resolve Development Conflicts and facilitate breakout discussions
  • Assist in the Release Management Process on sprint closure
  • Continually Improvement the development Lifecycle and growing the Scrum Maturity of the team
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
  • Work daily to ensure stories are well designed and progressed appropriated
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution without coercion, assigning, and dictating the work

Other Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate multiple multi-disciplinary teams, having the knowledge and experience to provide support and guidance
  • Work with product managers and the delivery team to establish a delivery rhythm, ensure common priorities, manage dependencies and remove blockers and impediments
  • Provide leadership cross program on Agile and Lean methodologies
  • Work with the product manager to build and iterate a product roadmap to meet the needs of the program
  • Manage stakeholders to ensure good relations and effective communication
  • Facilitate stand ups, agile/ scrum ceremonies, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Assisting with internal and external communication with transparency
    Supporting and educating the Product Owner, to groom and maintain the product backlog.

Skills that are preferred and desired:

  • Has been involved in delivery management of mobile or web as part of a small, multi-disciplinary Agile team.
  • Has a strong point of view about what works in Agile
  • Understands XP technical practices
  • Familiarity with GDS service design manual
  • 5+ years of experience in delivery management/scrum master
  • Versed in a range of Agile methodologies, Scrum, XP, Kanban, Safe
  • A great coach, able to get buy in from software developers
  • Must be able to present relevant team data
  • Very experienced in writing effective user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Ability to shield team from external influence
  • Articulate and engaging
  • Must be able to communicate well between global development and customer teams
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution without coercion, assigning, and dictating the work
  • Must be able to identify and manage escalations appropriate
  • Self-organized and able to prepare for meetings to keep focus
  • Good Conflict Resolution Skills
  • Able to work with a Continual Improvement mind-set
