Located in Adelaide, a unique opportunity now exists for a highly experienced Systems Administrator with a core focus in Big Data to join our dedicated Applications Team and support out large Public Sector customer base.  This exciting role would be well suited for a highly skilled Systems Administrator aspiring to grow and develop their skills and expertise in Big Data analytics.Your key responsibly will be to maintain the availability of the core platform underpinning Cloudera and Hadoop.

To be considered for this role, the following skills and experience is required:

  • Identity and Access control administration using RedHat Kerberos / AD   Integration with Cloudera stack
  • (users,  groups, permissions)
  • HDFS data management, file conversions, directory management
  • Hive, Impala, HBase administration
  • Sentry security profiles
  • Data Replication (metastore, HDFS, sentry permissions, hive, impala etc)
  • YARN resource management
  • Redhat OS & Cloudera patching
  • Application release
  • Redhat 7.x system administration

Desirable skills:

  • Task Automation using Ansible
  • Troubleshooting Java applications

Candidates with certifications such as RedHat Certified Systems Engineer (RHCE) and/or Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop (CCAH) will be highly advantageous.

Due to Federal Government client requirements, applicants must currently be Australian Citizens and be eligible to gain a Baseline Security Clearance. Candidates must also demonstrate flexibility and be willing to work outside of business hours including nights and weekends.
