Our client in the global packaging industry is looking to hire a Procurement Lead with experience managing category strategies, preferably indirect and/or IT/Telecom. The ideal candidate will have superb analytical skills and come from a manufacturing background with multi state locations and responsibilities. This is a hybrid role with a client located in Ann Arbor. The client is looking to engage a long-term resource that ideally could convert to a full-time hire.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Procurement Manager will include:
· Drive commodity and category-level improvement programs on cost, quality excellence, and supply chain at suppliers
· Work with functional teams and supply base to develop target-cost and low-cost alternatives
· Track and report savings, support process improvement in category area, monitor TCO improvement
· Understand market leaders to drive lowest possible TCO
· Establish supplier relationships and build rapport
The ideal Procurement Manager will have the following skill sets:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college required
+ Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration preferred. Certification
+ Preferred: PMP, C.P.M., CPSM, CPSD, CPIM or CSCP
+ 5+ years procurement experience in category strategies, indirect preferred
+ Excellent analytic, problem solving, decision making, team building, project management, strategic development, and change management skills
+ Skilled negotiator/results oriented
+ SAP Ariba
