My client, a very well known manufacturer with multiple locations throughout the US and World, is searching for a Regional Manager of Procurement to join their team for an immediate, direct-hire opportunity. The Regional Manager of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing and procurement for the southeast, managing a small team, establish and maintain vendor relationships, and negotiate pricing as necessary. This role will have management responsibilities that will require travel to North Carolina every other month. What You Get To Do Every Day:

+ Support all procurement function and procurement efficiency initiatives

+ Hold regional accountability execution of strategic sourcing of direct spend

+ Drive regional strategic improvement programs and be accountable for productivity and value creation KPIs

+ Execute strategic procurement for direct materials (BOM) in assigned categories globally within the global business unit

+ Manage categories between business units globally if required

+ Lead strategic supplier negotiations, in alignment with the lead buyer

+ Establish procurement procedures for the allocated category

+ Develop and align category strategy for assigned category, including markets, suppliers, policies, levers and approved vendor list

+ Challenge business on specifications and opportunities for cross-business collaboration

+ Undertake comprehensive procurement tasks including RFI, RFQ supported by operational buyer for high-value, high-risk purchases

+ Drive continuous cost reduction, cost avoidance and cash improvements on category level

+ Supplier risk and contract management, inputs contracts as necessary

+ Data quality management / Data cleansing

+ Price and contract negotiations in accordance with category management concept

+ Drive alignment and optimize interfaces continuously with the key stakeholders

+ Identify leverage opportunities across the region and business in cooperation with the global procurement team.

+ Responsible for the entire strategic sourcing process.

+ Invoice management in cooperation with accounting department

+ Claim management, escalate as necessary


+ A Bachelors degree in business or a related field is required

+ 7+ years of procurement experience is required

+ Proficient in ERP system such as SAP and possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

+ Strong negotiation and analytical skills

+ Strong emotional intelligence

+ Positive and frequent communications especially during adverse situations

+ High energy and robust work ethic

+ Well-developed leadership skills that inspire and motivate others

+ Strong customer focus and takes ownership of internal challenges

+ Dedication to employee engagement, development and empowerment

+ Well-organized and self-directed team player that can successfully lead teams

+ An articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization

+ Experience working with international colleagues and/or customers as well as a comfort level reporting in a matrix organization

+ Trustworthy, willing to share information as appropriate and serve as a mentor

+ Strong presentation and interpersonal skills

+ Verbal and written communication skills

+ Critical thinking and analytical skills

+ Strong business and financial acumen

+ Flexible to work long hours as required

+ Up to 30% travel required
