Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef for St. Ambrose University located in Davenport, IA. St. Ambrose University is a part of the Quad Cities – a bi-state (Iowa and Illinois) metropolitan area situated on the only major stretch of the Mississippi River that runs from east to west. The university resident dinning serves 1600 students as well as food court, coffee shop and conference center.

The Chef will lead daily dining operations on the campus and will have: hands-on college/university catering supervision experience or similar – experience training and leading a cooking staff – experience managing all types of catering and banquet events – excellent client relation and service skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
